“It’s magic, it’s another place.”

It is a botanical garden located on the shores of San Cristobal de las Casas. The purpose is to preserve Moxviquil Orchid, which is endangered in Chiapas.

In 1994 began the great feat of Dietz Robert Craig “Cisco”, who began the rescue of specimens of orchids in places disturbed by human activities. Pronatura Sur in 2002 formalized the collection to record it as “Orchids Moxviquil” (OM) through an Environmental Management Unit (AMU), the mechanism defined by the Mexican government for the management of wildlife.

Once you enter OM, yo can see and feel an enormous peace of mind, the place has an alternate design, clean, comfortable and cool. Nature at its artistic expression, a touch of “Cisco”.

If you run your own luck Craig “Cisco” will welcome you and guide you through Moxviquil Orchids, he will tell you how to start this project in such a friendly way, you will not want to leave there . After Cisco will give you an introduction to the orchid garden, and leave you there, so you can see, touch and smell. When you go out walking and exploring nature trails where you can find many native plants in their natural environment.

A FACT: It is important to bring comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes, preferably shoes that u don’t mind to get some dirt on them.. The access fee is very low per person (but Cisco gives you a small picture of orchids). Carry a basic camera.
