One of the most interesting places to stay in the jungle is Lacanja Chansayab and not only if you want to visit the archeological ruins of Bonampak and Yaxchilan (both of them are very close), but also to do some camping or to practice rafting, swimming and hiking. Río La Venta Canyon the sacred

A river well know for its natural walls as result of a geological fracture that turned into a canyon with caves, rapids and waterfalls.

This wonderful place is great for adventurous people as it is full of activities such as hiking.  The sacred canyon belongs to the Biosfera El Ocote and itís about 75 km. long.  You can see how the walls get closer and closer making a deep dark tunnel that turns into a cave where there are no plants, and all you can hear is the different kind of birds that make that their home.

Lagos de Colon paradise to discover
