Lacanjá river, green water snake

Named by the Mayans “Snake of Green Water”, the Lacanja River offers us a break in one of the 13 rustic cabins on the bank of its waters, in one of the most complete campsites, located at the southern end of the town.

Since 2000, this camp works to show the tourism the wonderful rural and cultural zone and offer activities related with adventure and ambiental interpretation.

Río La Venta Canyon the sacred

A river well know for its natural walls as result of a geological fracture that turned into a canyon with caves, rapids and waterfalls.

This wonderful place is great for adventurous people as it is full of activities such as hiking.  The sacred canyon belongs to the Biosfera El Ocote and itís about 75 km. long.  You can see how the walls get closer and closer making a deep dark tunnel that turns into a cave where there are no plants, and all you can hear is the different kind of birds that make that their home.

Lagos de Colon paradise to discover

It is a little paradise, combining natural beauty with archaeological remains, with 44 colored lakes low and deep are interconnected, six rivers and two waterfalls, a wide variety of wildlife and trees, this site of interest highly transparent in its waters, has an area of three hundred fifty acres. The colors of the lakes are the result of the nuances of the colors green and blue.
