Metzabok landscape of the original world

There are places where nature spilled its gifts with generosity. Metzabok (which means “The Thunder Maker God”) could very well be one of the best examples of this, it has: forest, jungle, a very rich fauna (unfortunately some of them are endangered, such as the Quetzal, the Great Curassow, the Harpy Eagle and the Jaguar), crystal clear waters, landscapes, caves, etcetera.

Río La Venta Canyon the sacred

A river well know for its natural walls as result of a geological fracture that turned into a canyon with caves, rapids and waterfalls.

This wonderful place is great for adventurous people as it is full of activities such as hiking.  The sacred canyon belongs to the Biosfera El Ocote and itís about 75 km. long.  You can see how the walls get closer and closer making a deep dark tunnel that turns into a cave where there are no plants, and all you can hear is the different kind of birds that make that their home.
