Río La Venta Canyon the sacred

A river well know for its natural walls as result of a geological fracture that turned into a canyon with caves, rapids and waterfalls.

This wonderful place is great for adventurous people as it is full of activities such as hiking. The sacred canyon belongs to the Biosfera El Ocote and itís about 75 km. long. You can see how the walls get closer and closer making a deep dark tunnel that turns into a cave where there are no plants, and all you can hear is the different kind of birds that make that their home.

Archaeological Tenam Puente

Built on a mountain overlooking the plains Comitan that extends to the Lagos de Montebello. The territorial extension of this prehistoric settlement has been calculated in two square kilometers, on which several buildings were built of such civic, religious and housing, which represent the transition from the classical to classic post (900 to 1200 DC).
